Who needs a pdf reader when you have google chrome

When settting up a new Windows PC one of most boring and time consuming task is setting up all the required utilities, 7Zip, Antivirus, Lastpass, …,

Yeah, I know of Ninite, http://ninite.com/ , it can automate most of the process, however I prefer to run the installers myself so I won’t end up with lots of undesired autorunners and toolbars.

One of those must have utilities is a PDF reader since it’s only included since Windows 8. I usually install FoxIt PDF reader, however since I’ve been using Google Chome I noticed it do an excellent job with PDFs on the web, so what about setting it as the default handler for .PDF files?, will it open my local PDFs?

Only one way to find out and I’m happy to report that it work perfectly. Only gotcha is that the executable for Chrome is not in the usual locations bellow program files, in my case it was in C:\Users\David\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe
